The Macau Symposium on National fNIRS Neuroimaging 2023 was successfully held at the University of Macau (UM) on the 17th December 2023 (Sunday). This symposium brought together experts and scholars from the fields of cognitive neuroscience, psychology, education, medicine and kinesiology to discuss the latest scientific research, cutting-edge technologies and challenges related to functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) brain imaging in these respective fields. With the purpose of promoting academic exchange among scholars, a total of 12 talks were hosted. This symposium further strengthened communication and collaboration between Macau and mainland China. During the interactive sessions and Q&A discussions, scholars actively engaged in fruitful exchanges and discussions, reflecting enthusiasm and interest in the topic.
The first opening talk was given by Prof. Hui LI, Professor and Chief Physician of the First Affiliate Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University, on the topic “Maternal-infant bonding and brain functional network connectivity in 0-2 months infants: An fNIRS study”. Other speakers include Prof. Weiming LIU of The First Affiliate Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Prof. Haijing NIU of Beijing Normal University, Prof. Fan WANG of the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Dongyuan LIU of Tianjin University, Prof. Qinmei XU and Dr. Chenyu YAN of Zhejiang University, Prof. Xin ZHANG of the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Zhongliang ZHU of Northwest University, and Prof. Zhen YUAN, Prof. Juan ZHANG and Prof. Rihui LI of the University of Macau.
