The Centre for Cognitive and Brain Sciences (CCBS) of the University of Macau has initiated a series of neuroscience seminar in 2021 and is continuing the series in 2022.
You are cordially invited to join the 2nd talk of the series, with guest speaker Dr. Zhihai QIU (丘志海博士) of Guangdong Institute of Intelligence Science and Technology sharing his research with us during the seminar.
All are welcome to join.

Topic: THE DEVELOPMENT OF SONOGENETICS Save
Abstract: Sonogenetics refers to the use of genetic encoded, ultrasound-responsive mediators for noninvasive and selective control of neural activity. It is a promising tool for studying neural circuits. However, due to its infancy, basic studies and developments are still underway, including gauging key in vivo performance metrics such as spatiotemporal resolution, selectivity, specificity, and safety. In this talk, I will summarize our recent findings on sonogenetics to highlight technical hurdles that have been cleared, challenges that remain, and future directions for optimization.
