A delegation from Zhuhai and the Hengqin New Area, led by Yan Wu, the vice mayor of Zhuhai city, recently visited the University of Macau (UM) and was warmly received by Yonghua Song, rector of UM and director of the State Key Laboratory of the Internet of Things for Smart City, as well as vice rectors Ge Wei and Rui Martins. During the meeting, Song told the guests about UM’s history, campus development, academic achievements, as well as the four reasons that make UM a unique university: its location in a special administrative region, its special mission, special status, and a unique model of education. Both parties exchanged ideas on strengthening collaboration by establishing a mechanism for regular communication and cross-border collaboration between industry, universities, and research institutes. The delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI and the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine.
